Southern Maine Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
The Doctors of Southern Maine Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery surprised us this past Holiday season with a very special gift…a Sail Bag made from the recycled sails of local sailboats from Casco Bay. Dr. Doss designed them to have the actual geographical coordinates of our newest office, 131 Johnson Road in Portland!! And of course they are sporting a Maine Lobsta as well!
Welcome to our PRC Corner!
This webpage serves as yet another venue with which you can keep in touch with me, your Professional Relations Coordinator, and all the happenings within the SMOMS Team. Thank you for spending some of your valuable time looking this over. I welcome your comments at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Doctors of Southern Maine Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery were happy to welcome Dr. Mike Meek to the Portland campus of UNE this past month, to discuss Implant-Driven Practice Growth. He is a self-described “Redneck Dentist” from Austin, TX, but he impressed us with his ability to show patients the benefits of implants over conventional bridges. He had many tips for us, and was very entertaining.

We look forward to presenting more topics of interest to our colleagues in the future!
Hollie Day at Gonneville Farms was a success!!
We bought ice cream cones for 18 four-legged friends! My puppy Peter Parker had a great time too, and he got TWO ice creams! (it’s who you know, right??!!) I was also able to gather $30.00 in donations for Strut Your Mutt, thanks to the generosity of Gonneville’s patrons. If you would like to sponsor the SMOMS Team for Strut Your Mutt, please visit this link:
Have a wonderful Labor Day Weekend!!
Please join me on Saturday, August 29th at Gonneville Farms, Route 5 (New County Rd), Dayton, from noon to 3:00, when I will buy the first 50 dogs an ice cream in honor of my beloved beagle, Hollie, pictured here. She passed away a year ago, but not before enjoying a luscious treat there with the family. I call it “Hollie Day”, and I look forward to seeing you and your best buddy there!! Suzanne

What a looooong winter it WAS! We jumpstarted Spring by awarding Spring Picnics to the offices of Dr. Paul Cloutier, Dr. Ted Morgan, Drs. Gene Kim and Vicki Saba, Drs. Wes Mills and Samantha King, and Drs. Stephen Mills, Mike McCoy and Kristin Lawson.
Some members of the SMOMS Team gathered recently with friends and colleagues from the Greater Portland area, at UNO in So. Portland, for our Dough Raiser. This was our 2nd annual event, in which we raised money for the Oral Cancer Foundation. We invited folks to join us for dinner and drinks, and UNO donated 20% of our tab towards our cause!!
We are comitted to raising awareness about this debilitating disease. To learn more about Oral Cancer, please visit our website, or visit one of our 3 locations.
We DID it! We survived another Maine Wintah! And we were able to pull off 2 great seminars at UNE; one at the new Oral Health Center in their simulation lab, with Patrick from Straumann.
The topic was ” Treatment Options For Your Edentulous Patients”.
The other in the CHP Classroom of Parker Pavilion. There, we welcomed back one of our favorite friends and speakers, Dr. Salvatore Ruggiero, for an update on “Medication Related Osteonecrosis of the Jaw.” Many thanks to all who joined us, and we will keep you in the loop regarding future courses!
Have a wonderful weekend!!!! Suzanne
If it could just stop snowing, we might be able to move forward with some of the seminars that we have planned!!
It sure is beautiful, though!!
